Brain Builders

Description

Welcome to Brain Builders, a tailored program designed for ANYONE from Kindergarteners to strengthen cognitive and advanced language skills while fostering independence. Our team understands that many families face financial limitations for intensive interventions after age 6. That’s why Brain Builders offer a cost-effective way to deliver personalized cognitive and language interventions in a group, helping children with cognitive delays achieve their goals with minimal guidance and preparing them for success in school and daily life.

Drawing on the BRIEF-P assessment—a well-known tool for evaluating executive functioning—our curriculum targets foundational skills like focus, task completion, and problem-solving. Using individually designed task bundles, children work at their own pace in a small group setting with general adult guidance. This approach builds early executive functioning skills based on each child’s unique needs.

This is for..

Brain Builders is ideal for ANY children from Kindergarteners who need additional intervention in developing cognitive and language skills. This group is particularly beneficial for children who:

  • Have delays in language/cognitive skills

  • Have difficulty initiating or completing tasks independently

  • Find staying focused/remembering information challenging

  • Need support with problem-solving and planning

  • Would benefit from working in a team and practicing communication and cooperation skills to achieve shared goals

This program is perfect for young learners who thrive with general guidance(2-3 to 1) rather than intensive one-on-one support.

3       Routines

Brain Builders sessions are carefully designed to help children strengthen their
executive functioning skills while fostering independence and group collaboration in
a supportive and engaging environment. Activities may include:

  • Check-in Circle: A welcoming opening circle where children check-in for the day and greet each other

  • Independent Task Time: Kids work on their personalized task bundles, designed to target their specific cognitive and language goals, fostering focus and self-reliance. This dedicated time builds independence and executive functioning skills by completing simple individual tasks in a group setting, preparing kids for collaborative group projects.

  • Cooperative Play: Engaging in interactive play that encourages connecting ideas while learning to problem-solve (e.g. solving social conflicts)

  • Project Building Circle: A fun and interactive activity where children put together their independent work to build something as a group, enhancing cooperation and executive functioning skills

Join us at Brain Builders, where children embark on their journey to strengthen
essential executive functioning skills! Through engaging and supportive activities,
we help young learners build confidence, develop independence, and practice

collaboration. With a focus on enhancing their executive functioning skills, children
will practice the tools they need to achieve success in school and daily life.
