Babble Buddies

Description

Welcome to Babble Buddies, a lively social skills group for children aged 4-6, where the art of conversation comes to life! This year, our theme is independence, empowering little ones to connect with others by asking thoughtful questions, offering reciprocal comments to keep chats flowing, and sharing their own stories to build friendships—all on their own. In our warm, playful space, kids also learn how to describe what’s in their minds, turning their thoughts into words to share with friends. Through structured fun and cozy group moments, we nurture social language and confidence, helping young buddies blossom into friendly, independent communicators!

This is for..

Babble Buddies is perfect for children aged 4-6 who need a little extra help with social conversational skills, especially with peers. This group is especially great for kids who:

  • Experience challenges with initiating or maintaining conversations with others

  • Have difficulty understanding or expressing emotions and showing empathy

  • Find it challenging to engage in social play or connect with peers

  • Struggle with putting their thoughts into words to share with others

  • Need support to notice and understand gestures during conversations in the context

This group is ideal for young learners ready to grow their conversation wings with gentle support.

3       Routines

Babble Buddies sessions are designed to boost conversational confidence and independence through fun, structured activities, including:

  • Check-in Circle: A cheery start where kids greet each other, share how they’re feeling, and practice asking different conversation starter “What did you do today?”

  • Chat Practice Circle: A dynamic session where kids share related experiences  and use social language to respond thoughtfully or ask follow-up questions based on what peers say, deepening their conversations.

  • Sharing Spotlight: Kids take turns sharing fun facts about themselves—like a favorite color or snack—or bringing a special item for Show and Tell, practicing how to offer info and connect with friends independently.

  • Interactive Game: Playful games that sharpen non-verbal communication skills, like reading gestures and expressions. Kids might solve riddles (describing clues and asking questions to guess answers) or team up for pair scavenger hunts with fun themes, encouraging flexible thinking and chatting without words.

Join us at Babble Buddies, where little voices find their groove! Through engaging activities, we guide kids to chat confidently, form friendships, and step into independence as they connect with others in a cozy, playful setting.
