Mini Skoolers

Description

Our Mini sKoolers program is designed for kindergarten-aged children eager to build confidence and skills in a supportive, structured group setting. This term, themed around independence, introduces simple cooperative activities—like paired tasks—that encourage teamwork and connection. Children will also continue practicing structured, multi-step activities that promote focus, planning, and follow-through, fostering the foundational skills needed for everyday success.

A special focus this term is on building the basics of conversation through reciprocal comments, helping kids learn to share ideas and respond to others naturally. By blending fun, hands-on tasks with opportunities to interact, Mini sKoolers nurtures both essential social skills and the ability to organize and complete activities—areas where many young learners with developmental challenges often seek extra support. Join us as we grow together, step by step, in a warm and encouraging environment!

● Have hard time in working together with other peers

● Benefit from structured practice in peer interactions

3       Routines

We’re building on the theme of independence by strengthening the skills they already have and gently introducing new ones through engaging, hands-on experiences. Each session is designed to encourage growth in a fun and supportive way, helping kids feel ready to take on group routines, connect with peers, and tackle everyday challenges with confidence.

  • Cooperative Activities: Kids dive into collaborative games and/or projects that spark problem-solving and teamwork. From following group instructions to taking turns and compromise with others, these activities help children stay focused and actively engage with others while building a sense of accomplishment.

  • Station Activities & Independent Work Time: Through structured tasks, children practice self-monitoring by completing steps on their own and signaling when they’re done. These moments reinforce focus, initiative, and the ability to manage their own efforts.

  • Social Skills Circle Time: Interactive lessons and playful activities bring social learning to life. Kids practice using social language for different communicative purposes. This term, we’ll focus on making reciprocal comments through lessons, social stories, videos, practice with visuals, and role-plays.

  • Guided Peer Interaction Time: Alongside structured activities like circle time and table tasks, we value unstructured moments—such as free play and snack time—where children can mingle and apply the basic conversation skills learned during circle time. These guided interactions help them connect naturally with peers, enhancing their ability to share ideas and listen actively.
